We decided we wanted to celebrate some of the local talent - and sometimes hidden spots - that make up New Zealand's diverse and impressive culinary scene, especially when they have mushrooms on the menu!

So this month we are talking about the Matterhorn - located at the ultra funky 106 Cuba Street, Wellington.  if you haven't been but are heading to Wellington it's time to go. They were established in 1963 and are known for "showcasing the best of our country’s seasonal and artisan produce in a truly original fashion" with many mushroom delicacies - including their 'to-die-for' ‘Wagyu skirt, mushroom, horseradish, whisky and rye dish!

They are open Monday to Sunday: 3pm till late

Contact them on 04 384 3359 or Check out their menu here
